Mt. Elgon Self-Help Community Project is organizing Introduction to Narrative practice trainings for Community Based Organisations working with individuals, families and communities. These trainings shall be held in two phases;

May/ 21st to 25th/2012:

Introduction to Narrative Practice and use of Narrative Practice in Economic strengthening projects. This training will be held in Mbale-Uganda and the venue shall be communicated later. The chief facilitator for this workshop will be Amanda Worrall from Australia. If you are interested in this training, please send us an email.

October 22nd to 26th/2012:

Tree of Life training workshop. The venue for this training shall be communicated later.


Mt. Elgon Self-Help Community Project won the second prize for Green Business Plan Competition 2011 under the Youth Entrepreneurship Facility (YEF) of International Labour Organization (ILO). The theme of YEF is unleashing African Entrepreneurship. The initiative is a partnership between the African Commission, The Youth Employment Network (YEN) AND THE International Labour Organization (ILO) implemented by the Youth Entrepreneurship Facility (YEF).

Mt. Elgon Self-Help Community Project presented the Business plan for solar project under the the

“Tapping the power of the sun-The God given gift of nature”

The solar panels we produce provide light, charge telephone handsets, pump water for irrigation and domestic use, Run televisions sets, radios, shaving hair in salons etc.

We thank God for making this possible and ILO for organizing the competition and all the friends who stood with us in prayers.
